Motorola Droid Official Webpage Hits Net Early
latest Android smartphone called the Droid for a few weeks now.
Some
early
hands-on impressions and other details on the Droid turned up
this week online. Today the official
Droid page on the Motorola site was “accidentally”
pushed live. The page didn’t stay on the site long, but it was
plenty of time for the specs and some pics of the handset to be saved
and a video of the device has even turned up at Engadget.
The
official specs of the Droid should put it right at the top of the
Android smartphone heap. The device has a 3.7-inch 16:9 aspect ratio
touchscreen with a resolution of 280 x 854. The camera is a
5-megapixel unit with a 4x digital zoom and autofocus with a dual LED
flash. Power for the handset is from a 1,400 mAh lithium-ion battery
good for up to 385 minutes of usage and 270 hours of standby time.
Other features include an unnamed 550MHz processor,
Bluetooth, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, and a built-in micro USB port. Storage
for the device will come from an included 16GB microSD card. The
Droid is a well-sized handset too with dimensions of 2.4 x 4.6 x
0.5-inches and it weighs six ounces. The only details left missing
are an exact launch date and how much the handset will cost.
